If you’ve followed along even a little bit with the Pokémon trading card game over the past few years, you’ve probably noticed the new gameplay modes The Pokémon Company has introduced: EX, GX and GX Tag Team cards, famous for being significantly more powerful than most base cards and able to perform moves that no other card can.

Today, The Pokémon Company has introduced players to its next iteration: Pokémon V. Starting with Sword and Shield‘s Zacian and Zamazenta legendaries, Pokémon TCG will feature V-class cards that are even more powerful than the EX, GX and GX Tag Team classes before it, with HP in the 300s and moves that can even potentially wipe out those classes — to say nothing of the effect they’ll have against base model cards.

There’s no word on whether this means more powerful base cards will be introduced alongside Pokémon V, but it will be interesting to see what the future holds.
